Lesson 2

Goal:

Steer our snowboard up the wall and change onto the edge.

How:
Start this exercise the same as before except this time we are going to be changing edges up the wall.
Word of warning: this requires more speed but the principles are the same.
Remember flexing down through the bottom of the pipe and extending up into the top of the pipe (Flat base)
Once traversed across the base of the pipe (with added speed) and starting to steer your board up the wall, slowly extend up and flatten off your snowboard edge base, once you start to reach the end of your momentum (up the wall), perform a hop jump like we practised earlier, and change edges.
Land on the opposite edge and flex down through the transition back into the base of the pipe, keep flexing down until you reach the other wall transition then start extending and flattening off onto your base again.

The key here is momentum, learn to trust your speed and changing edge becomes natural extremely quick.

Where:
Walls of the half pipe

Exercise:
Practise this until it feels natural
