Lesson 4

Goal:
we need to learn how to glide on our snowboard with increased speed, essentially what you are learning is how to straight glide so we can disembark the chair lift safely.

Why?

How:
Step 1 :Start with your snowboard facing straight down the hill, make sure your back foot is still planted on the snow right in front of the back binding.

Step 2 :Slowly lift your back foot off the snow and place it on the stomp pad in between your bindings, at the same time keep your basic stance balanced and relaxed. (Weight on the front foot)

Step 3 :Head up and looking forward, arm pointing to where you want to travel. (Straight down the hill)

Where:
Ski school beginners area, a little roll over, somewhere you will not generate a lot of speed, this should be performed no faster than walking pace.

Exercise:

Practice this for 3-4 times or until you can straight glide and stand in your basic stance without falling over
