Lesson 1
Flats:
Goal:
To ride flat land terrain with out catching edges or slowing down.
How:
Flat runs can be fun, once you know how to judge your speed and you have confidence in your ability to steer the snowboard without catching an edge.
STEP 1 :When riding flat runs, it pays to keep an open turn shape (Maintain speed) and depending on how narrow and snow conditions are, keep more weight on the front foot instead of even.
This will help guide your board in a straight line
STEP 2 :As long as you maintain your basic stance, your snowboard should not twist on you

STEP 3 :Try and remain relaxed and I tend to stand up a little bit taller with very little edge on the snowboard. (Always hold an edge, never have a flat based board on the flats)
STEP 4 :When you are going to make an edge change and depending on your speed, try and be assertive with the change, nice and quick!
If you piss around with the edge change, more than likely you will eat shit!
Where:
Flat runs/Narrow trails
PRO TIP: If you are struggling with keeping your board straight, push your hip forward to keep pressure on the front foot.
