Lesson 2
Speed control:
When venturing out into unexplored terrain (Blue/Black runs) always use closed turns.
It is very easy to generate a lot of unwanted speed, and if you’re not ready to handle it, you will soon find out, how dangerous black runs can be.
It is important to remember your timing with your flexion and extension. (1, 2, 3 up & 1, 2, 3 down)
You might need to either increase the tempo or slow it down depending on where and when you are going to make the turn.
Remember our turning exercises? Funnel and Hour glass, this is why you need to practice those turns!
Controlling your board pressure effectively will help you maintain control so you are able wash away the excess speed quickly and efficiently.
Things to focus on:
Closed turn shape, Edge pressure
Keep the head up and looking and pointing back across the hill!
