Lesson 4
Standing up on a snowboard:
We need to learn how to stand up with having both feet strapped in, and from both edges. This ultimately becomes easy over time with practice.
Goal:
Stand up with both feet strapped in.
Step 1 :Start by bringing the snowboard as close to you as possible. Place one hand down beside you hip and the other in the middle of your snowboard holding onto the toe side edge.
Step 2 : At the same time push with the hand beside your hip and pull with the hand that is holding onto the toe side edge.
Step 3 :As you start to stand up, make sure you are digging your heels (lifting your toes) into the snow.
Step 4 :Make sure you have even weight on both feet and just before you're about to become free standing, give a last little push to force your center of mass over the snowboard.
Standing up on your Toes edge is way easier when learning, Dig your Toe edge in and push your self up.
