Extension on a Snowboard:
We use extension to release edge pressure off our snowboard, this enabels us to steer our snowboard easier without unwanted edge pressure and friction from the snow. Ideally in the beginner stages, you will release edge pressure (extend up through the legs) off the snowboard before turning your snowboard down into the fall line.
Goal:
One way we Release Edge pressure on our snowboard is through Vertical movements.
Extension (Standing tall)

This refers to the Extending or straightening of one or more of the joints (legs, ankles, knees and hip)
Step 1 :
The opposite effect of Flexion is Extension. This is where we extend up through our snowboard. (Stand up taller) By doing this we are able to release all pressure generated through flexion.
This will enable us to steer the snowboard into the turn easier and essentially be more controlled. 95% of snowboarder I see do not use flexion and extension…
