Snowboard carving Tips that will help you with a Stronger Edge Arc
One of the first stages to carving on your snowboard is learning about how to develop good edge pressure and control when carving on your snowboard
…And Without understanding how to pressure your snowboard edge correctly, don’t expect to turn those basic skidded turns into smooth carving lines anytime soon.

This is where most snowboarders get carving edge pressure wrong, they don’t take the time to really develop a super strong edged arc in the snow.
By spending the time and practicing edged arcs, you are going to build a solid foundation that will set you up for a fast progression into snowboard edged c turns.
Most people try to shortcut this step and go straight into the C-turn…which ultimately results in frustration, pain, loss of balance and falling at edge change!
One of the most important aspects about edged arcs is that you will learn how to complement your flexion and extension with foot pedalling.
By taking the time to practice this exercise, your timing and pressure control will greatly increase and before you know it you will soon be making carving turns across the fall line.
The Edged Carving Arc
STEP 1)
Starting with a strong basic stance and your snowboard facing down the hill, slowly start flexing down into the uphill edge and start steering your board across the hill.
NOTE: If you have done this correctly, you really shouldn’t have to steer much, most of your steering will come from the camber in your snowboard.
Keep steering your snowboard across the hill and then ultimately back up to wash away the speed…
Roll over to the opposite edge and practice the same exercise.

The idea is not to change edges, we are just learning how to develop a stronger edge angle with a better focus around the ankles, knees and timing.
Keep Practicing this exercise and gradually start increasing the speed before starting your flexion exercise…
Make sure you don’t break at the waist when practising this, you will transfer your weight off the snowboard and lose the edge control…
