Lesson 10
Nose Press
Goal:
To do a Nose press on a Rail/Box
How:
Even before we try a press on a box or rail, we need to know where the sweet spot in our nose of the snowboard is.
"Whats the sweet spot?"
The sweet spot of our snowboard is where you have weight on the front foot and the tail of your snowboard is off the ground, all at the same time, staying completely controlled and balanced.
You need to be able to perform Nose press butters on the snow before you can successfully try this trick on rails or boxes. To find your sweet spot in the nose of your snowboard, you have to keep practicing transferring the weight forward over your front foot and maintaining your basic stance.
Eventually you will find the position where there is balance and you can control your press.
Nose Press on a Rail:
How:
As you come onto the rail, transfer your weight forward onto the front foot, lift the tail of your snowboard up and hold the press. It is important to maintain a good basic stance and keep your body in alignment with the snowboard. (don't break at the wasit)
Don't force the press, keep practicing on the snow until it feels comfortable and easy to do.
