Lesson 12

Tail Press:

Goal:
To do a Tail press

How:

Even before we try a press on a box or rail, we need to know where the sweet spot in our Tail of the snowboard is.

“Whats the sweet spot?”

The sweet spot of our snowboard is where you have weight on the back foot and the nose of your snowboard is off the ground, all at the same time, staying completely controlled and balanced.

You need to be able to perform Tail press butters on the snow before you can successfully try this trick on rails or boxes. To find your sweet spot in the Tail of your snowboard, you have to keep practicing transferring the weight back over your back foot and maintaining your basic stance.

Eventually you will find the position where there is balance and you can control your press.

Tail press on a Box:

How:

As you come onto the box, slowly transfer the weight towards your back foot and lift the nose of your snowboard up off the rail. Hold the press and Keep your whole body aligned with your snowboard, remember to look cool and smile when performing this trick!
